Video: Exo in Dubai – Exo to return to Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa
FIRST K-POP ACT FEATURED ON DUBAI FOUNTAIN SHOW AND ONLY NON-ROYAL FIGURES TO BE PROJECTED ON DUBAI’S BURJ KHALIFA
A literal showcase of “Power” happened in early 2018 when EXO became the first K-Pop act whose music was featured on The Dubai Fountain, the largest choreographed fountain system in the world. The boy group’s 2017 hit song “Power” served as the music for the fountain show on January 16, an event witnessed by the members sans D.O. and Lay.
Moreover, the members were also the first non-royal figures to be projected via an LED display on the Burj Khalifa, a skyscraper in Dubai. The images of all nine members were shown for a total of three minutes in July 2018.
The light and water show choreographed to the song, will play every day at 8pm.
The Korean boyband’s hit song Power was first included into the Dubai Fountain’s list of melodies in January, and the group visited to watch the performance.
Here’s what it looks and sounds like.
It initially proved so popular it was decided that its run would extend to March, and now it’s back again. The last time Exo were in Dubai fans lined up to greet them at the airport. At a press conference in the Burj Khalifa, band member Suho hinted that they are keen to return to the UAE to perform:
“We want to come back again here to perform our next concert and sing our next song. So, wait for us, okay? Wait for us. We hope to see you again,” he said.
The K-pop band was further honoured by getting their own LED show on the Burj Khalifa on July 14. The three minute light and sound show was also set to Power.
